Nathan’s Nibbles sits quietly on Prospect Street in Caversham, serving as a practical go-to spot for locals looking to kick off their day or grab a straightforward, hearty bite. It’s the kind of café where familiarity echoes through the hum of the morning rush—residents popping in for a full English or a bacon sandwich before heading off to work, and families settling in for something a little more relaxed on weekend mornings.

The menu leans into classic café comforts with offerings like all-day breakfasts, jacket potatoes dressed with chilli or tuna & cheese, and a handful of well-constructed burgers that pair nicely with a portion of chips. This isn’t a place for elaborate dining but rather for consistent, comforting food that fits into a busy local routine.

Visitors can expect a generally welcoming atmosphere, shaped by friendly staff who know many customers by name and keep things moving smoothly during peak hours. The seating is straightforward and functional rather than stylish, making it a practical stopover rather than a destination for lingering over coffee for hours. Because of this, mornings and late lunchtimes offer the best window to enjoy the café before the after-school crowd arrives or when the mid-afternoon lull sets in.

For those in need of a quick breakfast or a solid mid-day meal with a homemade feel, Nathan’s Nibbles delivers with its reliably fresh sandwiches, baguettes, and hearty breakfast plates. The recent addition of freshly baked Rosemary and Sea Salt Focaccia sandwiches filled with quality ingredients adds a bit of local flair to the staple café fare. The regulars who value straightforward, no-fuss food—and the occasional visitor seeking to support a local independent—find it an accessible spot to refuel without fuss.

Overall, Nathan’s Nibbles holds a comfortable, easygoing place in the Caversham neighbourhood. While it may not offer the polish of a trendy café, it makes up for that in approachable food, steady service, and a genuinely local café vibe that suits early starts and casual meetups well.

Good for typical cafe grub such as a full English or bacon sandwich. Staff usually very friendly and helpful. However very occasionally it is apparent when staff are having a bad day and they seem passive aggressive.

Today I visited Nathan’s Nibbles and I had a Rosemary and Sea Salt Focaccia which are freshly baked on the day, filled with pepperoni, Serrano ham, pesto and fresh mozzarella. I haven’t had anything like this from anywhere else and I give it a 10/10!

Well what can I say, I was super impressed with buffet they did for a wake after the funeral. They even delivered. The variety of sandwiches were super fresh and delicious, the sausage rolls fabulous and the two trays of mixed cakes were outstanding. I feel I need to share this as I truly feel that we should support our local shops if they deserve it and I can honestly say Nathan’s Nibbles definitely do. Thank you for your excellent service and outstanding buffet. Tina

Delicious veggie breakfast with a coffee. I'm vegan and was no problem to exchanged the egg for hash browns. (mushrooms were fried in oil and no spread on toast) Just found our new breakfast hot-spot!!

We love Nathan’s! What a place to get a fresh, deli made sandwich with a coffee and a cake on a Saturday! The baguettes are so fresh, the portions are so generous, the staff are so friendly and their pistachio brownie cake is a special treat worth buying!
